A while back I posted about finding rust on my 53 plate Mondeo on the boot edge and lower rear doors (The usual MK3 door weld sealant problem). Took the car to a Ford dealer late last year (I had bought it from an independant), let them have a look and the body shop guy took some photos for sending off to Ford HQ.

A few phonecalls a week over the past few weeks, and I have heard today that Ford will fix it under warranty! :)

The garage will need the car for 3 days, no courtesy car, however I'm glad that Ford are going to do a warranty fix rather than me spending money at a spray painters!

:)

Anti corrosion warranty is longer than the standard 3 year one, usually 10 - 12years iirc.

However usually you need to take the car in for rust checkups for it to be valid.

Ooooo, my mk2 mondeo is 8 years old with a rusty arch. Worth a shot?

ED: I'm talking out of my bum - its almost 10 years old now lol

Well, the car didn't have the annual paintchecks done, but when I took the car to the ford dealers they didn't ask about paintchecks or to see the service log! :D
