Hi all,

Don't know if anyone here knows much about speakers? I know nothing at all.

I have a 98 golf mk4 using stock CD + Radio/Tape. Most basic model so only has front speakers. The passengers side speaker has a fault. It sounds incredibly 'bassy' on anything about from spoken words. Pretty much all music is out of the question. At them moment i've transferred volume over to drivers side - so now i only have 1 speaker!

I'm not after a complete upgrade at all, just something that sounds decent. So looking to just replace the faulty speaker.

I've seen the following on an auction site and was wondering if anyone with any car audio knowledge could give me their opinion please?
Also, how had is it to replace speakers? Is any soldering involved?
Item number:370244295100

Thanks

IIRC The Mk4 has components (tweeters in the top of the door and mids in the bottom) so chances are the tweeter in the door has failed, leaving the mid/bass driver in tact

You can either get coaxials (like the auction you found) which have tweeters in the main speaker, just remember to disconnect the additional tweeter. Or, replace with components - bit harder to fit but better sound quality

Thanks for reply,
So if I were to buy the items listed I would not need any other parts/leads. I can just take out the old and insert new?
