Hi

I’m trying to put my Pioneer AVH-P5700DVD back into my MK5 Golf but the unit powers up without the ignition being switched on. It was originally professionally fitted and worked without any problems.

Does anyone have any idea which wires I need to switch around etc?

Thanks :)

Sounds like its running off the permamnet live rather than ignition live.

A lot of people switch the Red/Yellow wires on the ISO loom around, but this is generally only to cure it forgetting its settings.

Could be worth a try, though.

This won't help you at all but would you mind taking some pictures when you're done, please?

I've been toying with the idea of upgrading my MK5's system for ages and I'd love to see what the Pioneer unit looks like in there.

There was a wire running to the fuse box which I connected to the ignition live for the head unit. It seems to only switch on with the key now

I will do later :)

I used to have 6x9s and a sub. I’m not putting the sub back in, although I may put the 6x9s back in for now. I’m going to get a nice set of components then ditch the 6x9s at some point.
