.MKV files and Windows Media Centre!

Hi,

Does anybody know how to get .MKV files to playback on Windows media centre on Windows 7?

I have FFDShow installed but WMC just says that the file type isn't supported!

Just install KLite Codec pack with Media Player Classic.. plays more and the extra codecs will be a help; plus MPC allows DXVA acceleration which WMP11 doesnt

You know CCCP has everything in one package i.e. install that and everything will work first time

For some files you might need an additional audio filter to have any sound called AC3Filter download the "full" version for 64 bit support.

There is a really, really, really easy fix for this.

Only install the relevant part of the download package on this page. Works perfectly and also allows you to stream MKV files to play on a Xbox 360 through Windows Media Center.

I found this worked but CCCP didn't, not sure why
