If I purchase an ipad2, to watch mkv files, what will I require?

Can it play them innately?

Conversion to what other file type?

VLC is no longer in the App Store.

Many file converters will work.. I like to recommend for utter simplicity

Just download AVplayerHD, it will ply pretty anything you through at it. Can drag and drop files via iTunes or open its inbuilt wifi file explorer and drag and drop there. Great app.

MKV is just a container, so depends on the file inside.

superb, thx capt, purchased the hd app, now to figure ot how all this gubbins works

need to duplicate all her stuff from the iphone to the ipad to begin with, but syncing doesn't seem to be moving anything at all

i guess it is in settings, i truely wish apple did drag and drop like the rest of the known universe
