mkv to DVD

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, wasn't sure if the optical drive section would be the right place.

I want to burn 720p mkv files to DVD so my mum can just bung them straight in her DVD player. I did a google search and there seems to be a lot of information and software available so i want to check with you lot to see if there is some kind of consensus as to which piece of software is best.

I've used convertXtoDVD. Menu can be a bit basic but it's fairly easy to use.

Yeah ConvertXtoDVD is easy to use, you can also customise the menus etc.

Thanks guys. I've downloaded the trial version but i cant find any info on whats missing from the paid version. Any ideas?

I think the trial version has a watermark on the images and during the video, cant remember.

One last thing, is there anything i can/should do to make sure it makes full use of my CPU for encoding?

DVD Flick is fine. Just that using MKV the size is always too large for the normal disk Therefor I always set that to 4100 for the normal DVD disks. It is free

In the options there is a section to tell it how many cores to use.

IIRC i thought the trial limited to the size/length you could burn to disc. Could be wrong though.

Convertx2dvd but make sure you select the option for 2 channel audio otherwise there can be issues playing a 5.1 film back on a tv in my experience.
