Hi Guys,
Wonder if anyone can help me, I've been digitalising my BluRay collection onto my home NAS and have been using a program called MakeMKV, it works brilliantly and converts my BluRays to an MKV file etc...
The problem is when its finished converting I end up with the MKV being anywhere between 20-30GB and while they are amazing quality I just can't spare that amount of space per film so I need a converter that will let me Re-encode the MKV at a lower bit-rate but one of my main concerns is keeping the audio quality at DTS or DD in 5.1 etc.
Most of the Re-encoding software I have tried so far will happily drop the bit-rate of the picture and I'm getting 10-12GB~ish sized files with great picture quality still BUT the best option I can find for the Audio re-encoding is AAC/AC3 which sounds crap on my surround sound compared to having the proper DTS or Dolby soundtrack!
Does anyone know of any good software that can keep the Audio in its original format but drop the picture bit-rate etc?
Any help is much appreciated
