hi

just wondering which one is best to get if you are offered them at the same price??
I know on the ml115 if you want to use raid and a local esxi (3.5) you need the adaptec sata controller (40quid), on the ml110 on board sata is ok?

I just want to run esxi and play around with VM Machines, explore as much as i can at home to further my experience/knowledge.

but that issue put aside if both servers are going for the same price which ones would you recommend?

any advise much appreciated.
thanks;)

Generally ESXi is quite flexible - well ESX in general is nowadays, i'd be tempted to get the ML110 and see how it fares. If not then you can always get a cheap adaptec controller.

I use a 110 as a training enviroment, have run both esx/esxi and hyper V on it. just throw memeory at it.

Great little work horse.

hi all,
thanks for the replies, with the prices fluctuating all over the show, i may just hold a while longer.

Dave its the Adaptec 2610SA (ive read on here), why you ask may i ask?
regards

Oh, i need a suitable RAID card for some ESX boxes i'm putting together at work but i only need 2 channel RAID-1 and i'm trying to keep costs down, adaptec for £40 sounded ideal.

But i've noticed that i can't find it for sale anywhere and it's PCI-X anyway.
