I've been browsing the Members Market a little while now, and love it for the ease of cheap parts and so on.......

However i've been wanting to return the favor and sell some of my own unused bits off, the problem though for me is knowing weights and delivery prices.

So short of lugging various pieces of hardware to the post office i've no way to know how much anything weighs and likely charges for posting.

So that brings me to the thread title.

Would it not be nice to have a thread where members list what they sent, how they sent it (ie. RMSD, RMRD, so on...), the size (roughly is good enough) and of course the cost. This would make it whole lot easier for all members to price up deliveries. Of course i understand charges change, so whack in a few useful links, Royal Mail price page etc...

Basicly a thread that lists peoples recent items sent, and the method they used and what it cost them. This would be a great resource that could be updated by anyone sending items out.

Something like this.........
-----------------------
Item sent: WD Hard Drive Sata2 (example)
Weight: 1kg (example)
Packaging: Cardboard box and bubblewrap (example)
Courier Type: Royal Mail Special Delivery (example)
Price: £5.00 (example)
Size:? Since RM also charge dependant or this also it might be worth including this to.
-----------------------

User can add any other notes, such as wether they paid extra to insure the item, or maybe there experience and what works for them.

I'd like to make a thread like that myself but i've not had to send anything out to anyone hardware wise, so don't have the foggiest idea.

Posted here, since didnt know where the thread would fit.

Comments?.....

And how do you find out the weight of an item?......

Can't say i have a set of scales i can plonk a case or hard drive onto to weigh it with.... :(

Thought it would make a nice reference.
