Any in production?

MMORPGs are what I miss most after moving to console gaming. Ultima Online, Anarchy Online, Dark Age of Camelot, Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft - all have gotten £100s from me. I'd happily pay £20pm tomorrow for a decent XBL MMORPG. I don't understand why they aren't plentiful.

When you look at games like Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect, Fallout, Fable, they could so easily become sustainable MMORPGs. Hopefully it will happen in the future. What's stopping them?

Well FF11 is the only one i can think of at present, SE have said because of how XBL work FF14 wont come to the 360. Personally I expect its just SE trying to get a better deal for FF14 as it didnt seem to be an issue with FF11. Age of Conan, APB, Huxley MMOs were all planned for the 360 but i believe the 360 versions have either been scraped or put on hold.

As for MMORPG on consoles in General think there are 3-4 coming to PS3 this year, FF14, DC universe, Free Realms and possibly The Agency, i guess due to PSN being a more open platform its easier for publishers to have MMOs on that system.

Final Fantasy XI is pretty much the only stand out one at the moment.

Whilst not really an MMORPG, but more an Online Action-RPG i.e. 3D Hack'n Slash Diablo-type game, there is Phantasy Star Universe and it's expansion Ambition of the Illuminus.

I wouldn't have thought that the xbox was powerful enough to run an mmo, my system with 4gb ram and a decent 512mb gpu used to creak a bit in major cities in wow.

Console + MMO = Fail

That's why I keep a PC as well as my consoles. Well, for porn as well but mostly for MMO's

It's a 3 year old game too, but then it's Monster Hunter.

Shame we will never see it over here though seeing as the standard Monster Hunter games are only starting to take off, what with the current title (Tri) being on the Wii.
