Hey.

I know this is probably asked a lot, but are there any promising MMORPG's in the pipeline? I've recently started Rising Force, and, well, it's a bit boring.

Maybe i'm missing things or just not getting it :) Anyone here play it?

Thanks

I played RF Online for about a month. At first I thought it was very good. It doesn't have much depth as far as MMO's go, I certainly wouldn't compare it to EQ or WoW. If anything it was more action oriented a bit like CoH. It is definately a grind em up, but I found that it was enjoyable with a decent weapons range.

The problem is that the game allows hardly any custom UI changes. You can't even reverse the mouse axis. Also the chat system is terrible and the swear filter blocks seemingly harmless words. So, in the end I cancelled my sub. If they ever improve the UI, allow inverted mouse axis and maybe add a bit more content then I might return for another go.

As for future MMORPS. I'm really looking forward to Vanguard - Saga of Heroes. It's made by a team who worked on the original EQ. There looks to be plenty of depth with features such as player made cities, a very large and almost seamless game world, less reliance on zoning. Looks very good imho, more info can be found here:

Yeah Warhammer & startrek will hopefully be good, but also Darkfall (successor to Ultima?) is my next big hope.

Have you tried city of heroes / villains?

Pirates of the Burning Sea is one I'm looking forward to after being left disappointed with RF Online and D&D Online. LotR looks interesting although I'm a bit worried at another licensed game so you'll have a lot of "fan boys" moaning on the forums a lot.
