MMS useage on 3, data or pay?

Could someone finally clarify something for me.

On 3 uk, if I send an mms, does it use my data allowance or am I charged for it?

Can't seem to find a clear answer so hopefully one of you knowledgeable folks can answer.

Ah well, I suspected as much. What about emailing a picture, surely that counts as data useage?

Used to send loads of mms, now I just use whatsapp so comes out my data bundle which is good
