Mobile Aircon Unit Repair

Hi,

Hopefully I am on the correct forum in the correct area. I want to get a mobile air conditioning unit repaired that has a small leak and would need to be re-gassed. I am located in Leek, Staffordshire. I have contact refrigeration engineers and air conditioning companies and none of them are able to repair these mobile units. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Yes it is an Electriq Ecosilent14HPW. Just want to find someone in this area that can repair them. Nobody seems to be able to repair them.

I suspect that the problem is that these portable units are not designed to be repairable and why nobody will touch them. I know that £550 isn't exactly cheap but things are not designed to last these days and faulty items are just binned and swapped for a new one.

There is usually no way to refill the gas loop as they often fill it at factory then seal the end of the pipe instead of putting a valve on it.

They are able to repair them but it’ll cost more to repair it than what the unit is worth. So it’s not worth their time or yours.

I looked at one many years ago, The compressor was shot in the end, That was on R22.

Looking at your unit that appears to run on R290 and as others said time you get someone to look and repair it be cheaper to buy new.
