I'm thinking of getting mobile Broadband as a temp soloution as moved into temp accomidation for a short while. Will i be able to use this with my PS3 via the usb connection, i don't think it will but thought i'd ask anyway !

thanks

You can get wireless mobile bb routers now, which you plug your bb stick onto and it get wireless access, this would be the way if any as you'd need to install software to run the wireless otherwise, which the ps3 wont let you do.

(not saying for sure if that will work or not)

you could if you had a xbox 360 and a PC, so I'd assume the same for a ps3

Plug usb thingy into pc / laptop, voila net access, then just network the pc and ps3/xbox 360

That said, pings may be random/ dropout

You'd have to see what the download limits are, or just not download demos

I wouldn't. I have done this with a T-Mobile stick. It's naff, the NAT settings are so strict (and there is no way to change them) you will drop out randomly and get really bad pings, and on COD4 I couldn't connect to games and sometimes couldn't even connect to the lobby. It's not worth the hassle. Admittedly I did this on the 360 which is P2P, so I do not know how well it will perform on the PS3.

Have used a Vodafone USB dongle via my laptop connected to the PS3 and it was fine, not a single problem with it. T-mobile is pants anyway so that probably explains half your problems.
