Silly question chaps, but I do not know the answer.
My t mobile contract is ending soon and they have not really tried to offer me anything to stay so I have found a better deal on the web.
I don't really care about keeping my old number ect so I have asked when the contract ends to shut the account.
But they said it will go onto a rolling contract?
What can I do, am I missing something here, will they charge me line rental even though it will not be used?

Sorry not to great on mobile phone things:confused:

OK you've found a better deal mate, thats the best way to start things off :)

What you need to do is call T-Mobile and explain to them your contract is ending and you are looking to leave as you have found a better deal.

If you dont cancel your contract after the minimum period it automatically goes onto a rolling deal, so that would be where T-Mobile are coming from and this is easy to cancel also. They do this because you have not entered a new contract with them and until you do it will be via a month by month basis.

If your minimum contract term is served then you can cancel quite easily as it is within your rights so they don't have a leg to stand on here but they will require 30days notice as posted below. :p

Saying that, it is not in the companies best interests to lose customers so they will no doubt pass you onto cancellations/retentions who will ask you what the deal is.

Explain the deal and what phone you will be getting and why this is better than your current deal. They should then try to keep you by offering you a good deal besting what you want to leave to, of course they may not but it is very likely they will do this.

Just get on the phone and explain what your proposing to do and take it from there :)

Hope this helps and explains roughly what will happen.

As i just found out the hard way, you have to give the company atleast 30 days notice prior to the contract ending. To give them chance to switch everythiong off etc.
Otherwise you will still get charged monthly as you are now. But you will not be confined to a contract like before.

Make sense?

The time scale will differ with some companies.

Edit: The description above me is a lot better :D

Thanks chaps, have told t mobile to shove the rolling contract where the sun don't shine, and on the last day close everything down.
