Hey all,

The laptop is a Packard Bell LJ65.

I was thinking of upgrading my laptop CPU. From a Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 @ 2GHz with 800fsb.

To an Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q9100 2.26 GHz, 1066fsb. I think these are both the same P478 Socket.

I have an Intel PM45 motherboard, would the Quad CPU work on it?

Thanks guys.

how come you didnt go for a quad core laptop instead of having to transplant from core 2 duo to core quad? as its going to be expensive i'd have thought.
my mistake on the Q9200 its just i didnt see it on intels website.. saw a Q9100 and Q9000.

At the time I couldn't afford it, and I've seen a Quad core for £144 on the bay. Do you guys think it's worth the upgrade? Or should I just stick it out with this?

My Packard Bell doesn't have onboard graphics, it has a ATI 4570 512MB Graphics card. I did do a BIOS flash recently, to the latest one. I think the quad isn't a good idea as it is, well risky. As said before I won't know until I try.

Thanks for the replies though.
