Hi guys,

I know the Galaxy S2 phone is very popular and I was wondering if any of you guys could reccomend me a good waterproof handlebar mount/case. Im going to hook up a 12v cigi lighter under the seat so I can use the sat nav on my phone.

Could anyone reccomend me a good one?

Just to let you know guys I have renthal bars if that made any difference.

Thanks, Ben

Thanks for the suggestion guys!

Fireskull, thats the mount and case ive been looking for but I dont think my bars will allow it. On my renthal bars, you have the actual handlebar but then there is a long thin bar going accross to each side of the handlebar and I think that may get in the way. Would a picture be more judgemental for you guys or can you see where Im coming from?

Thanks, Ben

I use one of these in the headstock

Then use a Ram Xgrip mount.

I have the equivalent for the iPhone and it works brilliantly, he does plenty of waterproof chargers, mounts etc so worth checking out his store.

Sorry to semi-hijack here! :p

Which one do you have for your iPhone? Is it properly waterproof & stable etc? I have TomTom on my iPhone, so may as well make use of it when I buy my big bike rather than getting a separate satnav. Is it quite straight forward to connect to the battery?

Hey,
This is the exact one I have:

You need to make sure you get the right size stem mount for your bike, so this 13-14mm one is for my GSXR, he does all the other sizes too.
I had no problem with stability, it all screws up nicely, never had it move.
And yes it is properly waterproof, It rained plenty going too and coming back from the Isle of Man earlier this year and my phone never got wet and the charger etc still worked.
I have since broken the waterproof iPhone cable adaptor, my fault though, but the ebay seller sells all replacement parts.
You can even use the touchscreen though the case, granted with gloves on it could be a bit of a pain swiping to unlock, but actually pressing icons etc it worked great!
Yep connecting to battery is easy, just unscrew the terminals and connect the charger cables,
The little charger box comes with a waterproof on/off button so if you are worried about it using up battery charge when you are not using it you can turn it off, personally I have left it plugged in and on for months now and my battery is perfectly fine.
The cables are more than long enough, I have it plugged into the battery, then I have the on off box under the back seat and then the long cable trailed back though alongside the engine to the headstock where I have cable tied it to keep it tidy and out of the way.

:)

Hmmm I know what you mean, and there's definitely no space anywhere else on the bars? or you could just use the stem mount same as I have used, might be worth messaging the eBay guy and see if he has a kit for the Galaxy with a stem mount.

Excellent, thanks very much. I'll definitely be investing in this (or at least something similar, depending on if a handlebar mount or stem mount is going to be best) when I get my big bike :)
