So mobile me is failing to work and im not impressed as iv lost key information in my calendar (so iv got to phone people up again to find out when im ment to be places – very embarrassing).

I use:

Mac
Ipad
Iphone4

So what happens is, when I update something in the web browser of the mobile me home site (NOT on ical on the mac), it seems to then sync to all devices correctly and reasonably quickly - WELL except my ipad seems to take way longer, even after I set syncinc to every 30 mins (it seemingly takes hours).

If I add calendar appointments from say my iphone 4 or ipad (which I do most frequently as when im out meeting people I OBVIOUSLY will add appointments on my iphone 4 as it’s the most convenient way) ... it only keeps the information local to that device…..and then after a day or 2 it disappears ………WT^$%%^$ !!! WHATS THE POINT OF THAT !.......iv added some ‘test appointments’ to my devices from my iphone and ipad and they just stay local to that device, the mobile me ‘cloud’ doesn’t seem to receive the information and then what im guessing is (it only sends and seemingly overwrites)…., seems to do it on my mac also but less often.

Iv reset up my mobile me account on the devices and told it to merge all data, yet it still keeps doing this, WHATS going on ? Any help very gratefully received.

Instead of merging, go total reset. This is assuming all the information in iCal/Address Book on your Mac is correct.

1. Back up all of your contacts/calendars on your Mac. This method shouldn't remove anything on your Mac but it's better to be safe.

2. Delete your MobileMe account from your iPad & iPhone. I don't think this will do anything on the "cloud" but check just to be sure! I can't remember what it asks but if it gives you the option to delete your calendar/contacts data from the local device do it.

3. System Preferences > MobileMe > Sync on Mac OS X.

4. Click Advanced. Then "unregister" every single device it lists (ending with your Mac).

5. It should now pop up saying there is sync information that isn't being used and you can remove it from the "cloud". Delete it (NOTE this may delete any other sync information e.g. Dashboard widgets from the "cloud". So long as it's local it'll still be safe on your Mac but again be sure to backup anything you value).

6. Delete Safari's internet cache/cookies/etc. (Safari has a weird habit of keeping MobileMe stuff around) on your Mac. Log back into the MobileMe Website and "navigate around" until it realises your data has gone and it disappears from view. Yeah...

7. Delete Safari's cache/cookies/etc. again.

8. Setup sync again on your Mac.

9. Log back into MobileMe and "wait" for your new data to appear again

10. Setup MobileMe sync again on your devices

If that doesn't fix it... Go Google!
