Hey Guys,

Managed to sort a second hand iPhone 12 for my son (the rest of us in the family use Apple iPhones & iPads)

Can any of you thrown some recommendations my way for SIM only high data tariffs?

Ideally something with Wi-Fi calling as we live in a village and the signal is shocking, I believe tesco/giffgaff and such dont offer Wi-Fi calling.

Cheers

On Quidco, type in "Three sim only". There are the following 12-month plans:

3GB for £5
8GB for £7
25GB for £8
120GB for £12
Unlimited for £19

Just be mindful on what you read on there because some of the deals are for 24 months. I normally pick a Three plan, then switch to BT or Plusnet after a year, then switch back to Three. You can use a PAC code to keep your phone number and it keeps your rates steady (instead of increasing) because you're switching every year. If you don't switch, then you'll get above-inflation yearly rises.

I do this. But switch directly to another Three sim.

How did you do that? I prefer Three anyway to any of the other networks and I use them for 5G home broadband. When I tried to get a new 5G contract and cancel the old 5G sim, I was on live chat for 45 minutes as they tried to keep my custom for the old sim, when I kept telling them that I wanted to keep the new sim and cancel the old.

The 3 i have used are Lyca, Lebara and Smarty. They all have deals on quite often like 10Gb for 99p for 6 months then a fiver thereafter on rolling contract. It just depends how much data you really need.

Here are a couple of their deals.

I'm another one using Smarty as well. Providing you get good coverage on the three network then you'll be fine. Prices are fixed and don't change in 12 months etc (unless you take a deal I guess) so no messing around moving numbers or ringing to cancel. We don't go abroad often but EU roaming is included for free up to 12GB of usage. We were on Sky mobile and they charge you £2 per day to use your own data abroad! So I moved mine, my girlfriend and daughters to Smarty and will save about £4-6 per day at least! (I tell them to use Wi-Fi but they don't listen!)

Ask Three to change your sim to payg and to get a pac code. Then you can transfer it to another three contract sim.
