Over there...
A mate was saying he waned to get an N95 and use mobile MSN to cut down on his text usage. Personally, not sure if he'll use it all that much, but thought i'd enquire...

i know tmobile do web n walk, but i heard that its flakey, and its distribution is limited. The i thought 3 might be an option - but no N95 as far as i can see? Plus 3G coverage is pretty poor too imo...

So what say ye? Any advice? Cheap data tarrifs to enable it to be left logged in? GPRS enough for msn?

Web n Walk is the best deal (at present) for online fixed cost data rates. But they've completely banned the MSN protocol now, so you won't be able to connect with w'n'w. Only other way to use it would be horrid online Web MSN garbage...

All other online data tarriffs don't seem to great, but i haven't looked that in depth since t-mobile have it pretty much bang on...

Forget 3 and MSN. I'm on 3 and I was never able to install it, let alone use it, as soon as I click on the "Begin installation" link I get "Operation failed" and it's been like this for over a month. 3 is clueless, phone is K800i, all should be fine, but it just simply don't work. Installation doesn't work on spare "3" K610i we have in the office either and not a single one out of "Mayneym iz John"s from call centre was able to share any useful tip on the matter so far.

Im using agile messenger on the N95, the trial version that is. Seems to work fine as far as i can see but the trial only lasts 7 days.

Im with Tmobile and am on the wnw plus package which i was recently upgraded to from the £7.50 one, costs £10 extra a month. When i asked the guy at tmobile, he said on that version on wnw you can use msn messenger.

Exactly the same phone and network and my msn works fine

It can't be 3 because we all download from the same place and I know a few people including myself for which it downloads and works fine.

It has to be your phone or just your area as you have to remember that not all 3 services are available everywhere.

I think there is some evil software version checking in 3's installs, if you unbrand or add languages to phones software, or use unlocked 3G phone "3" just blocks all installations and java applets. Browsing works, all services work, videos work, streaming work, 3 spam works but msn or any game download always ends with "Operation failed" during installation (I get charged for the actual download, so it looks like it downloads but won't install). Evil, evil stuff...

i'm on '3' and have MSN on my K800, it works fine for me and best of all doesn't cost a penny to use :)
