I'm looking at some laptops at the moment and was wondering if someone could explain the difference and perhaps highlight the differences in performance on the following processors.

Intel Pentium Dual Core
AMD 64 X2
Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo.

I know that from the above list that the Core 2 Duo would be the best and better option.

But how does the Pentium Dual Core compare to the AMD 64 X2 processors?

The AMD's run cooler and slightly faster I beleive.

So, you would see a better performance from them then as a result?

So, in a raw power chart it would look like:-

Intel Pentium Dual Core
AMD 64 X2
Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo

The top being the least performing and the bottom being the best?

Hmm, what do you think would be better ....
