Mobile rant!

I swear that most of the time when my iPhone automatically connects to BT Openzone (as I get it in my contract) it then doesn't work as it's actually a BT FON hotspot which is £££, rather than a BT Openzone hotspot which its SSID is advertising as .

And the annoying thing is that the iPhone will just try and route any data down the WiFi and just sit there going "Derp, it's dead". Would be far more sensible if it went "WiFi doesn't seem to be working. Let's use 3G cellular instead."

I cannot remember the last time I was in an area with a BTOpenZone hotspot and no 3G.

Given this, I cannot understand why anyone would bother. Just use.. 3g.

I try to use this at Bluewater on various accessions and gave up.

If I do manage to connect it be very slow. Bit like when I had BT for broadband at home.

Indeed, happens on android as well.
