Mobile Roaming Charges Abolished in the EU

From now on, citizens who travel within the EU will be able to call, text and connect on their mobile devices at the same price as they pay at home.
so if it was cheaper in a country before now you pay the same price as you would at home?

you just use your allowance for txt mins and data. there is a fair use policy. I have found out hard way that virgins data policy is 5gb abroad ;D additional GB is £7

Im on payg. And yes now it is more expensive than it used to be for me in switzerland. Guess i should buy a local payg sim for when im here.

All networks including Three, allow their plans to be used in Europe at no extra charge. Regardless of any prior restrictions implace, that's been overridden.

Great news!

Nope.

Feel at Home.
Using your phone abroad at no extra cost with Feel At Home Around the World is not included on our Essential Plans but you can still enjoy Feel At Home in Europe, covering 48 European destinations. If you travel to our Feel at Home Around the World destinations on an Essential Plan, our roaming charges for that destination apply – see Roaming

If you’ve chosen an Essential plan that includes a monthly data allowance of 12 GB or greater, a fair use policy applies in our Feel At Home in Europe destinations with use over 12GB subject to a surcharge of up to 0.73p per MB (0.78p per MB from 1 July 2017).

Yes.

Not sure you read what you posted it clearly states:
"Using your phone at no extra cost with Feel At Home Around The World is not included on our Essential Plans but you can still enjoy Feel At Home in Europe, covering 48 European destinations"

You cannot use the essential plans outside Europe but your allowance can be used in Europe up to 12GB (Fair usage policy), unlike before where you'd be charged to regardless of your allowance and regardless of how much or how little you used.

All our Pay Monthly and Pay as You Go Plans benefit from Feel at Home in Europe in 48 destinations. On Pay as you Go, you can convert your credit into an Add On or simply use your cash to roam at no extra cost. If you are on one of our Essential Plans, you will pay standard roaming charges in Feel at Home around the World destinations.

Hence the new separation between "Feel at home around the world" and "Feel at home in Europe"
Feel at home around the world (Advanced Plan only) - Roam in Europe and the other destinations including USA etc using your allowance

Feel At Home in Europe (Advanced & Essential Plan) - Roam in Europe using your allowance.

This change just seems to be a money grab of your on oranhe which has tje worst pay data rates of 65p per mb. I cant even get the sms codes for the free wifi at trainstations etc anymore. It was nevee a problem receiving them before to +44 numbers. I cant even connect to half the networks anymore either it says sim card not allowed on this network but before ice connected to them when ive been in swissland. Seems like i can only connect to salt which i think usrd to be orange in this country. Roaming i used to get 3p per mb now get the crappy english price on orange of 65p. I dont use data in the uk so it wasnt a problem before... guess i get a puk code and switch to 3 and also get a swisscom payg sim for when im over here..

I'm on Three and it has always been great to use feel at home in Europe. Now this rule has come into force I was expecting Three to start allowing 4g use in Europe. I was in Spain recently and my friends were all enjoying their new no extra cost 4g and I was stuck with 3g. Come on Three time to offer 4g in Europe!

Worked great in Croatia last week. Made it a bit harder to choose restaurants though, given you now have TripAdvisor etc at your fingertips!

10 francs for a paygsim preloaded with 20 franks and unlimited internet for 2 franks each day.
not bad and certainly better than the crappy data rates on orange....
