Mobile router keeps dropping out - all lights off

Hi,

So I recently switched to a TP-Link Archer NX200 5G mobile router running a Lebara sim. It's connected to an external antenna, and when it's working the broadband speeds I'm getting are pretty good. The issue that I've got though is that every day at least once or twice, I lose all internet and wifi signal and all the lights go out on the router, apart from the power light. Most times it all comes back on within 5-10 minutes. As well the initial internet connection time seems slow. So TV apps that should launch instantly can sit spinning for 20 - 30 seconds before loading. Quite often websites will do the same, but not always. It's got my scratching my head a bit. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be happening?

Could be radio interference caused by other radio or weather conditions.

Lebara uses the Vodafone network, but I think (haven't checked) it can be treated as lower priority traffic, so you are getting bumped off at times of peak traffic.

Either way, fibre broadband will be much better if you can get it.

Is the Wi-Fi network definitely no longer being broadcast?

I'm inclined to think it's a faulty router. If it were just the WAN connection dropping then I'd expect the Wi-Fi connection to still be up, how else could you configure the router if it were fresh out of the box and didn't yet have a WAN connection setup?

I’m puzzled how you came to this conclusion?

What would be that powerful and spread so far across the spectrum it would knock everything out? OP didn’t say he was next door to Duga.

Bumped off wouldn’t explain WiFi drops and I’m sure OP works have fibre if it was available but not everyone can.

Thank you, yes everything drops out including the Wi-Fi, which is what I couldn't really understand. As you say I'd expect the Wi-Fi to stay on even if the WAN connection kept dropping. I did wonder if it could just be a dodgy router.

If the Wi-Fi drops then the router is faulty, or there's some strange default configuration where it reboots itself if it thinks the connection has gone down.
