So the MobileMe service is well over a month old now and I was wondering if people are still experiencing problems? The first two weeks were pretty dire which I suppose could have been expected with Apple's schedule and the scale of the service. Then things seemed to settle down in the third week and the service started to deliver what it promised.

However, since iPhone firmware 2.0.1 has been released everything has gone belly up for me again. Push is incredibly temperamental and seems to work properly around 50% of the time and this is my biggest hangup. Looking at various Mac forums it seems I am not alone. Contact / calender pushing seems to work fine for me, its just emails.

This is starting to really **** me off.

Last update was July 29th, and in that post it states "Next post later this week". Hmm. So what's the news with the SMTP server always being down? What about the Web Front End and the fact is ridiculously slow, buggy and hard to use? What about the fact that push services from the iphone are not reflected in the cloud until a reasonable amount of time later?

Are they trying to suggest from their silence that the service is operating as it should??

On this page there is a green light next to the service yet at the moment I cannot connect to the SMTP server and therefore can't send any emails. Is that a good service working as it should?

This whole thing stinks and Apple's estimation in my book has halved at least. Their actions regarding this service has been dispicable and it seems that they are sweeping the problems under the carpet which gives me no confidence that it will ever work smoothly.

I am now tied in for a year and I really hope that it improves, but I will think twice before using Apple's services again considering the way they treat their customers.

They are doing themselves no favors thats for sure. The amount of 60 day trialists they will lose who would have otherwise paid on for the proper service will be massive.

They took on too much at once.

Im hoping that things will iron out soon although I imagine we will probably have to wait for more firmware updates etc. Really is a poor show and the lack of communication from Apple is ridiculous.

Your issue with not being able to send emails, is this from your iPhone? If so, delete your mobileme account from the phone and add it again manually. I had the same problem and this was the solution. Another bug that needs to be ironed out.

Now I like Apple but the farce that is MobileMe and their silence is starting to wind me up.

Tried sending an email via the MobileMe web interface at work yesterday as I forgot me iPhone and it was slow and then gave me an error. Same today, Only the mail part of the web interface is slow for me. I can look at my photos no problem at all but I WANT TO SEND MAIL!!!

Why can't you set alarms on the Calendar web interface?

Still having the online disk space, synchronization (and push) of email, calendar and so on means it does have the potential (at least for me) to be useful.

Push email to iPhone is now the only thing which isn't consistently working. It will work occasionally, say 25% of the time, the rest of the time it just wont work. This was the main factor for me in purchasing MobileMe so very frustrating. Im not alone if you look at the various Mac forums but I wish Apple would just acknowledge it let alone fix it.

Yeh same here, though i wont be continuing my trial as i dont need it, just seems a waste of money to use it as i dont need it. I just have my gmail auto forwading to it at the min. Just seems silly.

Once the cheapskate trial bums bugger off it'll settle down for the members.

I've been a member since 2005 and it's worked perfectly for me since launch

Don't know how people are having all these issues.. my iPhone push is practically instantaneous and my Mail is always working *whistles*

Glad it works for some at least.

New problem for me now. Push email notification doesnt seem to work for me within the OS X (10.5.4) mail.app. I can only get my mail retrieved manually or set it up to retrieve every 5 mins but from what I understand, it should push no problem with a mobileme account?

Sent myself an email two minutes ago. Still waiting for it to be pushed to my iMail and iPhone.

Waste of money.

Same push seems to be not working at the min at all. Infact fetch is not working either. But its working fine on my MBP.

EDIT: Just as i typed this a new email poped into my mac and iPhone. But that does not change the fact that push has not been working all day as i had 13 emails come through on my Mac and non on my iPhone.

Yeah, you can't complain that much with 180 days free. It more than compensates for the errors and lack of mail, even more so in my case because I've not had any issues what so ever with mine :)

I had a period a couple of weeks ago where mine just wouldn't sync on the Mac, no matter what I changed, nothing happened and I'd have to force a sync.

I've noticed now that it syncs every 15 minutes or so. It's much better now than it was before, I consider this to be a good thing.
