hi guys,

never really bothered with .mac but after watching the video on mobileme i couldn't really resist...

so anyway, i signed up, i can log in online etc... but in the setup instructions online it says this:

Set Up Mail, iDisk, iWeb, and iLife

When you sign in to MobileMe on your Mac for the first time, MobileMe sets up services for you as follows:

* Mac OS X Mail is automatically configured for you to send and receive email from your MobileMe account. If you have Mac OS X Leopard, make sure you are using the latest version (10.5.4). If you are not using the latest version, go here to read about setting up Mail on your Mac.
* iDisk appears in the Finder.
* You can publish photos, movies, and websites to MobileMe with one click in iPhoto, iMovie, and iWeb.

thing is, i've signed in by clicking the .mac bit in system preferences, this worked, but none of the above has happened... any idea how i invoke it all?

could it maybe be because i did a .mac trial about 8 months ago and i've used the same name as a new signup for mobileme?

very strange... can login online btw but can't seem to get into any of the sections to see if they are syncing... just kinda times out :(

The servers are being hammered, I'd try again later :)

Try "automatically set up account" in mail, and choose .Mac / MobileMe

cant find that option so i assume your tekkin the piece?

i actually signed up from a link you posted in another thread evh, but on the apple site the service hasn't even launched yet (thought it was yesterday?)

maybe it'll all just "work" when it officially goes online? is this kindof a beta run?

i'll sort that out later anyways, but i've got another question...

from the video, it implies that mobileme automatically syncs your calendar and contacts up to the mobileme service... just went to me.com and my contacts are empty

surely since my macbook is logged in that should simply be good to go?

riiiigggghhhhtttt

i knew i wasn't going crazy... the mobileme download from the other thread sortedt his right out and gave me the tickbox :D

in fact, the download sorted everything out :)
