Mobo and cooler compatibility

Hi,

Apologies if posting in wrong forum or if answer already exists elsewhere (I have tried searching for answer!)

Can anyone confirm that a tuniq tower 120 cpu cooler will fit onto a gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R mobo without any modding?

If not should I just get a noctua nh u12f ??

Wanting to order this afternoon but don't want to end up with something i can't return if the tuniq does not fit.

have you checked the gigabyte site for a compability list ?

have checked both the Tuniq website and the Gigabyte one and can find no specific references to compatibility on either sadly

ah what the hell - am going with the Noctua as that is listed on Noctua site as definitely compatible

Well my box of luvverly new parts arrived today but alas! the mobo had already been opened, had 1 mounting screw in the corner and appears to all intents and purposes to be second hand!

Anyone else had similar problems? Am awaiting reply from webnotes system about return and replacement but dare not even try the board as is for fear of voiding any returns warranty.

Bah!

Bad luck with the used bits

To answer your question on the Tuniq and that motherboard see thread <not 56K friendly.

He had to remove it to plug the power connector into the board.

So it fits, bit remember to put it on after attaching other stuff to the board.
