Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

So I've heard some things about there being issues with the D3H mother boards and pci-e x16 card slots for graphics cards; causing boot problems and not recognizing graphics cards etc.

After much decision making I'm collating an order for the next week to include a new gfx card (nvidia gtx660 ti or amd 7950 maybe ...must have dual dvi so probalby the nvidia - budget for gfx is £200- ~250 at a push).

Question is - am I going to have bios issues or whatever causing gfx card incompatibility. I've heard people who have complaints and people who don't.
I don't want to be faffing about installing beta software on a new mobo in a new build.

Am I worrying over nothing, or should I be looking at a non gigabyte mobo instead?

There has a been a few people with problems with that board and certain GFX cards, but a BIOS update has fixed their issues.

Was that a total failure of the board to work with the gfx?

hmmm.

Starting to have second thoughts about this one tbh.
Fair enough, before I tear apart my old machine to reuse the case I can download all of the latest drivers/bios etc for the mobo and put them on a disk... but at what point do I install all of that stuff?
I've had a bios update totally screw a windows install before now - not that I'm all that bothered about having to format and reinstall the OS in a clean build.

So a possible install priority -

os
mobo drivers
latest bios (maybe have to reinstall windows after what happened the last time I tried that)

everything else ie gfx drivers etc

Also - oem windows can format a new blank disk? I had an issue with a hdd a while back as a boot drive - until it was properly formatted I could not install oem windows. As I'm getting an ssd will I encounter the same trouble at having to prep the drive beofore I an install the os?

It's all starting to look like spending what is quite a lot of money will not get me a hassle free build.

I thought people were experiencing problem with the non-X version (Z77-D3H), and not the Gigabyte Z77X-D3H.

Thanks for the links guys - some interesting reading there.

Maybe some confusion from me too regarding the board model numbers :o
If the trouble lies with the Z77-D3H and not the Z77X-D3H I might be concerned over nothing...

The links and issues I seen are for the Z77-D3H, not seen (or remember) anything fo the Z77X-D3H

hehe confusion all around then, ta :p

Thanks again for input - new build to replace a ~10 year old system is always a case of having to run to catch up with what all of the latest tech is all about...
I find myself sitting in front of the computer saying things like "But what do all the numbers mean?!" :D - this is especially the case with graphics cards since everything has changed completely regarding the naming conventions.
