Mobo bios upgrade

I'm using a Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 Intel X48 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard in my pc. I've read that you can update the bios of the boards via the manufacturers website. how easy is this to do and more importantly is it idiot proof !!!!

generally safer to do a manual update, as less things can go wrong (OS crashing etc...)

but update from manufatures site should be quite straight forward

Thanks, might hang fire before downloading and installing new bios. just needed the info on how safe it is for a noob

the safest method is to use BIOS-built-in-utility which is called Q-Flash
