Hi, got a gigabyte ex58-ud5 and am about to install a Asus xonar essence stx 2 7.1. Now the xonar has two cards that need to be installed next to each other but as far away from the video card as possible. To that end, which slots should I use? I've got to get in my gtx970 gpu as well .

Looking at the slots on the board I don't think you have many options, may as well just out them in wherever. You could out the GPU in a lower PCIe slot but I wouldn't bother unless the it won't fit otherwise

At present I have my old sound blaster in the right hand (orange) slot and my gpu in the next slot to the left (blue slot). the new sound card needs two slots next to each other ..
