Thinking of upgrading from AGP at last so its a bit of a minefield not to make a mistake & get the wrong kit as it will need to last a long time.
I might want to eventually use two graphic cards but not sure whether the dual PCI-E slots on mobo's are SLI only or Crossfire only & not interchangeable as I want to use Nvidia.

Ok,

Intel chipset = Crossfire = ATI gfx card
Nforce chipset = SLI = NVidia gfx card

If you are going to overclock I think an Intel chipset would be the better choice :)

hope that helps :)

SLi is terrible compared to CrossFire, and the only good nVidia chipset around is the new 790i which is DDR3 only...

I'd go for a P35 chipset + 8800 GT or something. In my opinion sli is a waste of money.

Thanks for info guys, now I know what to look for.
I think your right about SLI, just been scouring forums &
there's lots of problems, best bet if I can afford it is a dual GPU card

Still sticking with Nvidia but not AMD & going Intel for first time ever, Q6600 seems the biz at reasonable price. :D
