as the title i am looking for a high(ish) end system to replace my aging 2600k and asrock mobo which is 4 years old now.

i have a Gcard and good PSU, so looking for the core guts really

Latest i7
16 - 32 of DDR4
Good solid user friendly mobo

any idea, i am really out the game now on mobotherboards.

i guess i am looking for something that is well supported with drivers and a good bios setup, i found my asrock to lack both those qualities

Hey dude. No budget. So def want an i7 sorry I should have said that. I am totally out the game as last pc is 4 years old now.

I was looking at the gygibite and Asus mobos. But could do with some advise !

yeah i am having issues with the mobo and figured it would makes more sense to upgrade the whole lot than replace a 4 year old mobo to fit a 4 year old cpu.

i play a lot of arma3 so that works the cpu and do a lot of multi tasking across 3 pc screens when working from home.

Yeah I only upgrade every few years so gonna go all out and get something good. I do lots of multiple tasks over 3 screens so more power the better as I work from home now. Asus or gigabyte is what I am learning towards.

I am not fully update on all the new tech myself I have been researching over the past week as my old i7 950 Rig needs to go. Do you really need the newest i7 as a lot of games don't take full advantage of multi-core CPUs.

Asus & Gigabyte both are great boards I always go with Asus as they have always worked and the drivers/bios support is great.

hey AK,

which Asus board are you looking at ?

i am leaning towards Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 7 at the moment

To many and it is doing my head in lol, I'm not sure if spend a bit more and get the Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero or just for Asus Z170 PRO GAMING, I doubt I would do much overclocking to start with as I am going for a 1080p build, I will get myself a 1440p screen later down the line.

You going for the i7 6700k or 6800k then? What graphics card do you have atm I'm still trying decide on that and whats up with the Nvida top GPU prices?

i think the 6700k as that will be fine, i want something that is easy to overclock (ie a click of a button) :D

i have a 1080p screen and using a MSI AMD 290x gcard which is fine for the only game i play which is Amra3 exile mod, as Amra is all cpu based really
