Mobo, Cpu & Ram < £150?

Looking to upgrade a friends system and the only thing that needs upgrading is the CPU, but that will means complete overhaul of the Mobo & Ram along with it .

Is it even possible to get that much for that little?

Dont mind if its AMD or Intel.

It depends on what he currently has as to whether it would be an upgrade. Can't really suggest possible weaker components so any idea what he's running at the moment?

Im pretty sure its an Intel Celeron 1.8ghz with only 512mb ram. But oddly enough, The rest of the system is pretty decent.

Probably go with cat-the-fifths suggestion. It's just slighlty over bdget bust seems like the best he can get for the price.

Ive been using core2duo's for years now and every build Ive down for others has been the same.

However, I just built a cheap "work" PC using AMD athlon X3 425 - Mobo ram and CPU for £130.

First overclock test hit 3.5ghz no prob.
