hello there, iv been running my system @ 3.8ghz for about 3 years..

been using

422 bus speed and 1.575v been stable for years,..

randomly about 2 months ago it wouldnt stay stable when i boot so i thought oh well im not such a perfectionist no more havent overclocked in years, ill just knock it down to 3.6ghz, and put voltage down to 1.525..

now i thought id do a tad of clocking see what was up, because iv just had a good computer clean out, and im in a perfectionist mode..

anyhow got it back to 3.8ghz, when i start othos, i notice in cpu-z the voltage dropps from 1.575 to 1.5 but only when i run orthos then it fails after a few seconds, and im running the voltage that ran orthos fine for a good 18 hours or more at one time.

i just cant seem to remember voltages dropping like that if at all :S

is it time for the old poop to go pop do ya think?

Edit btw if your wondering about tempuratures or anything like that, theres no problems there, load temps are only 55c @ 1.575v

no speed steps or anything throttling is enabled

throttling would reduce an unstable clock. sounds like a corrupt core in the proccessor. sorry, but think its time to say your last farewell's

Could be your PSU. I think mines on the way out at 3 and a bit years old. The stated watts that a PSU can produce drops with capacitor degradation over the years. There are also capacitors on your motherboard so could be either.
