Hi I recently bought a msi 970a g43 mobo to go with my 8350 as people on other forums said it would be fine, but as I researched further there was quite a few people having problems with it working with the 8350. So had to send it back.

This is my first build so I dont want to encounter any problems after I build it all because I wouldnt know how to resolve the issue.

This will be my build.

Amd 8350
R9 270x 4gb
8gb ram 1600 mhz

Ive only put down them 3 components because im not really sure what you need to know when speccing a motherboard.

I will possibly be overclocking, although ive had no experience doing so, so it depends how simple and safe it is.

Budget for mobo is £70-80.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Budget for my whole build is £650 with o/s. Feel free to spec me a whole build for this amount if you think I can get a better deal with this amount.

^ I think that's the top AM3+ board recommended, I've never looked into it but for those 83xx CPU's you need good VRM phases.

Ask in general for a spec for £650 and say what you need, will get lots of good builds :D

If you have not bought the parts yet, you would be better off by saving on the 8350 by grabbing an 8320 and putting the saved cash towards a decent cooler.

Sorry for the thread hijack, if I am going with AMD graphics what are the downsides of going with a 970 vs a 990 chipset? I'm putting together a cheapish 6300 or 8320 build with an R9 270x.

Usually its just SLI support and equal bandwidth for the PCI-E slots where two or more cards are concerned.
