Im gunna start ordering system parts soon but due to not been able to save money I will be buying it part by part every 2 weeks when I get paid. I want to make this as future proof but upgradable as possible. I know newer and better stuff is allways just around the corner but seeing as the 8800 series has been out awhile, I am gunna get everything ready for when the new series comes out.

So far all I have pretty much definatly gunna go for is:

Lian-li PC-A70B wit side window.
500GB seagate HD.
Vista premium 64 bit
Q9450.
750W corsair PSU

But im goin to leave the last part to buy been the GPU cus hopefully the 8900 series will be out.

First I would like to know what mobo to go with?

I will want to OC it and possibly W/C it in the end. I feel it may be kinda stupid to buy a DDR2 mobo and then have to buy a new mobo in the future for DDR3.
I was hoping for 4GB of DDR2 ram but i would be happy with 2GB DDR3 for the mean while and maybe add another 2 when prices come down.

Im not looking for Sli as i hope a high end 9800 card would run good enough. But will 2.0 PCI-E be needed in the next few years?

If anyone could reccomend a good mobo and 2GB of ram for what I have asked above?

Thanks.

You could do a lot worse than these:

or

Not cheap I know, but as future proof as you get buy for the moment.

If DDR3 is too expensive then this should be a good option:

You'll probably get a lot of folks recommending p35 boards, whilst these are very good, I feel it would be good to have 2 pci-e 16x slots and hence, the option of optimal crossfire performance.

I'm afraid I cannot recommend any of Nvidia's boards at present, both the 680 and 780 chipsets just don't seem to cut it for long term stability, it might be only my experience but having spent the last year trying to iron out a string of issues, I feel obliged to let you know.:)

EDIT

Oh, just noticed you're not looking for SLI, no worries then!
