Hi all,
I have a xfx 780i mobo and when I now go to boot I get a post error and no display on the monitor.

I have tried both cards (BFG 8800gtx) in turn and tried a card in my friends pc to verify its working.

It still wont post. Lcd poster shows shadowbios/video ram, but the cards are fine.

This means the mobo slot and effectively the mobo is useless.

Ideas, opinions and other help welcome.

Couple of things that may help, try doing a CMOS reset just in case the BIOS has got it's self in a twist and test the ram one at a time.

Hi RJC and thanks I have popped out cmos battery ( no difference) and trying the ram right now.

I also tried the gfx card in the second slot and it posted to the bios and asked me to replace the card in the primary slot. Which then refused to post.
Can I change it in the bios to run from the second slot? I dont know if you can or where to look

Hi mogwai,

Rest of spec, (2) bfg 8800 gtx oc2 gfx cards in sli,
intel q6600 cpu at stock speed of 2.4
8 gb ballastix tracer ddr2 ram at stock speed of 800MHZ.
150 gb raptor hddrive.

System stipped to bare spec of 1 stick of ram (tried all sticks in all slots), using single gfx card checked in second system and working.

If i use 2nd pci ex slot I can access the bios now but cant make any changes that make a difference.
Rechecked bios code it says shadowbois/video bios, not video ram as stated in opening post.

Waiting for a friend to drop in a pci gfx card to see if i can get the system to boot.
hope this helps you to help me.
