Hi guys, new to this forum and overclocking so bear with me if i've repeated what some others have posted...

I built a pc in november, and to justify the 2500 euro price tag, i used bf3 and an old gtx 260 as an excuse. The specs should :O be in my signature strip...

So, cutting out all the bull, i play bf3, coh, mw1, and a few others. I get BSOD's regularly, and I fail to find the cause of it... I thought it was the graphic driver, so updated. Currently running the beta. I updated the bios, got a new soundcard, etc, tried all the old reliables.

I have a prime95 8hour tested stable 4500mhz OC.
In bios my memory is set to 1333mhz, even though its 1600mhz. If i select the xmp profile, or manually try to change it, the system fails, and reboots the stock settings.

I memtest-ed each stick of 4gb. all clear. And all slots are clear also of any errors. At 12 gb, memtest shows no faults. At 16gb, the list of errors are endless. But even at 12gb the BSOD's still occur.

I could also be in game, and the display driver will crash (despite using the official driver or the beta) and it would appear minimised as the sound keeps running. the game wont restore. so i would manually have to close it.

So is this a GPU issue? Or memory issue? a mismatch between speed and bios setting? This is really frustrating... Has been for 2 months...

I welcome the help.. any suggestions appreaciated....

Regards,

Joe

I'd suggest:

1) Making sure the RAM is running at ~1.5V

2) Loosing the 4 screws securing the cooling block/pump a turn each (too tight and you can warp the motherboard causing issues with the RAM slots)

3) Check you have no damaged pins in the CPU socket

ok, will do that later... that requires a good bit of effort... all ram slots check out tho doing the memtest ? A faulty slot would've been picked up there tho...

What will the cpu pins cause an issue with?

Ram is @ 1.5v

thanks for the quick reply though.
