Hi all,

Today i flashed my bios and when the PC rebooted there was no display so i thought it was a bad flash cleared the cmos no joy.

stripped the pc down to the basics still no display.
So i have bought a new mother board and again same problem no display.
I have tried both the onboard graphics and my graphics card.

there is power to the board all fans working and so on.

There is no power to the usb ports or its just not posting no system beeps either.

any ideas could it just be a coincidence and the cpu as died ?

well, logic wouldsuggest it was a bad flash. so a new mobo seemed the right choice. looks like cpu is dead but dont understand how that happened. so if you can 'borrow' a suitable cpu to trial that would be the best option. after that i guess itll ahve to be a trial and error on the other components. Id try a different monitor 1st, disconnect any dvd drives etc, followed by changing the psu & memory.

if it is another component its very unlucky, another possibility is that the new mobo is faulty!

thanks for the responce.

I have tried a second monitor also stripped the pc down to cpu 1 stick of ram and onboard graphics still no joy :(

gonna try the PSU on another system in a bit.

well worked it out tried old cpu in a friends board no joy tried the new cpu in old board no joy.tried new cpu in the new board worked first time.
So some how both the MB and CPU are dead.

So need to decide on a new cpu and MB
