Not sure if this is in the correct place, but hey ho.

Just put together a Gigabyte Z97MX gaming 5 and a R9 270x and have this error "Auto detect cannot display this video mode, optimum resolution 1920x1200. Not sure what is causing it, but I've checked all the connections, wondering now if it might be the monitor.

At first everything seemed ok, loaded windows, but on a reboot it gave this error message. I then used the onboard gfx wherupon it fired up into windows fine. Tried another reboot, but then the error happed again, only this time it failed to load into windows, and just hung.

This is rearly anoying, is it the mobo, the gfx card or the monitor?

PC:
Gigabyte Z97MX Gamimg 5
i5 4590
Be Quiet 630w psu
2 x 8 Gb Crucial ballistic sport ddr3 memory
1 x 320gb hdd
Dell 24" monitor

A fresh install of win 7 pro.
All mobo and gfx drivers.

So two display output devices both give the same error? then that sounds like the monitor/cable.

I think I may have a dodgy monitor power button.

Thinking that was all that was wrong, I now find that if I connect two hdd's only one will register in the BIOS. Not only that but also the DVD/RW isn't recognised in the BIOS either.

I've updated the BIOS to the latest, I've ran the two hdd's in another pc, with no probs, and to add to that when the splash screen comes up it just sits there for approx 10 seconds, then the screen goes blank for another few seconds before the splash screen appears again. This splash screen appears 4 or 5 times, but not on every boot, hmm.
