Mobo power connections? (Help)

I have a MSI GD53 mobo. For the power connector on it (the 8 pin one) a little cover was clipped over one side of the connections. I have removed it but does this mean I only connect one 4 pin connector?

You can put either a 4 or 8 pin into it, some older PSU's only have a 4pin you see.

If your psu has an 8 pin 12v eps connector attach all 8 pins (after removing the cover).

It has one with two 4 pins, its a Corsair TX650. it has daisy chained SATA power connectors, can I only connect one SATA power device to each one?

Put the two 4pins together and stick em in.

You can put as many drives on the daisy chained cables as there are connectors.

Thanks. Also on the HD Audio power header there is a connector called AC'97 where do I put it?

Should be two connectors from the front panel, possibly on the same lead?

One is a HD audio and the other is AC97, just use the HD audio into the header on the board and leave the AC97 dangling.

OK did that, thanks. Also when I clipped the CPU into the mobo there was a slight crunching sound, is that normal?

Sometimes. As long as everything was aligned properly it would be fine. They do take a lot of force to clip in.

I just double check all the connections on the motherboard like the power switch etc and make sure that everything is plugged in and fire up. If something does not light up then can trouble shoot from there
