Ive located the problem to as why my pc wont start its due to a dead motherboard. Question would the Ram and cpu still function or would I need to replace them as well?

might seem an obvious question, but how did you determine it was the mobo?
if you tried another mobo did you try the cpu/ram in the one that worked ?

if its is the mobo that needs replacing then aslong as you get the same socket (775,AM2,939..etc) then it should work.
