Mobo replacement, what one?

Hi,

Been getting hardware failures in Vista and I think its the mobo as ive tried different ram and 1 gfx card at a time. Should I get another nforce6 or go for nforce7? Also, which one is very stable?

I had a 780i and it was fine...I'd recommend one unless you want to use DDR3 in which case go 790i

they say EVGA is 1st choice (with step up program etc etc) But I've got an XFX and the support for that is great, enough I've not had to use it much, just in terms of bios updates etc.

And to be fair, I believe they are all reference boards, so getting the latest BIOS from XFX will work just fine on the EVGA and vice versa

Looks like an nforce 1 then. Just gotta decide on which one. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I got the XFX 780i and a Cosmos S case. Runs sweeet as a nut, got 11750 in new 3dmark.

can't fault the xfx 780i, not had any experience with the evga version, don't forget they are both reference boards so differences will be very minute

Im very pleased with it. I didnt expect to get over 1000 points increase in 3dmark Vantage just from a mobo change.
