I've overclocked in years gone by mainly on Intel but a few AXIA Athlons...

Now on my current mobo there are SO many options that I need some advice

Trying to overclock an Opty 146 on a Winfast (Foxconn) 6150 mobo so into "Superspeed" options and I have

Performance options ("CPU freq" I can understand and "PCIE Clock").

PCIE Spread Spectrum DISABLED - ok?
SATA Spread Spectrum DISABLED - ok?

but now I am getting confused with....

Hammer Fid Control - STARTUP (but could be X4 800mhz all the way to X10 2000mhz)
Hammer Vid Control - STARTUP (but could be 0.825v to 1.550v)
VDIMM 2.6V (standard, I set memory at 166 to allow for overclocking to its recommended 200 as FSB increases tend to increase mem clock no?)
VCore Voltage +60mV (needed it seems for stable 2.5ghz)

Basically I am confused by the Fid/Vid and two sets of voltages....

Gratefully taking advice from AMD gurus out there!!! My son wants "his" machine faster than "mine".....

Unsure about the spread spectrum thing, I've never touched it. Nor have I used this motherboard.

Hammer Fid Control - STARTUP (but could be X4 800mhz all the way to X10 2000mhz)

This will be your CPU multiplier. So multiply this by your fsb to get your overall clockspeed.

Hammer Vid Control - STARTUP (but could be 0.825v to 1.550v)

This is the voltage supplied to your cpu, the "VCore Voltage" gives you the option of supplying more volts in addition to what this is set at I'm guessing. What settings can you choose for VCore Voltage?

..I set memory at 166 to allow for overclocking to [from?] its recommended 200 as FSB increases tend to increase mem clock no?)

yep

Thanks for that....

I am still somewhat confused as to why two diff settings for voltages for CPU

Hammer Vid Control - STARTUP (but could be 0.825v to 1.550v) - I left this unchanged

VCore Voltage +60mV (needed it seems for stable 2.5ghz)
