Hi All,

Still got an old 8800GTX and having been looking to upgrade for some time (I know, as has everyone else). Have been impressed with the OC's that people are getting on the BFG GTX 260 (With 216 shaders).

Was looking at getting one, and thought if I went EVGA I could use the step up if something came out within 3 months. See below:

EVGA GeForce GTX 260 "Core 216 Superclocked" 896MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail

My questions are:

1) Will my old school Abit mobo (as per sig) be ok what with its PCIe 1.0 slot?
2) Does the EVGA card OC as well as the BFG?
3) Any other suggestions, including a possible mobo/cpu/ram upgrade

Cheers in advance.

Krib.

1. yes it should be fine - especially with your cpu clocked to its current settings i wouldnt suggest uprgrading that

2. all graphics cards clock differently - its luck of the draw just like cpus- im sure you can squeeze some more juice out of it!

3. i would keep your current cpu and perhaps look at upgrading to 4gb ram
if you must upgrade motherboard - i suggest a p5q

you shouldnt need to though
