need help guys

want to upgrade my current system , thinking of going for the Intel Pentium 4 805 Dual Core "LGA775 Smithfield" 2.66GHz (533FSB) - Retail OR Intel Pentium 4 820 Dual Core "LGA775 Smithfield" 2.8GHz (800FSB) - Retail

which processor is better ?

i am assuming the faster clock speed but with the reviews on toms hardware about the 805 i am impressed with that.

does the 820 have the same overclocking ability ?

also i need a new motherboard that can take ddr1 (will get ddr2 next month) and agp to use with one of the above processors ? what would you use ?

i am on a budget so cost is important but i want to try and overlock the processor via air to 3.6 (ish)

was thinking of using a artic cooler 7 fan and getting a new power supply aswell (need input there aswell)

i will be putting in my old ide drives, dvd drive etc

any info would be great

thanks in advance

Personally I would bodyswerve both those chips and pick up a second hand 930 or 940 or a new 915 or 945 if funds allow. The 930 and 940 are two of the finest clocking chips about and will both do 4GHz under air. There are really no temperature issues with those chips at all.

The 915 and 945 are effectively the Presler core chips with some functions disabled. They also clock like demons.

The 8xx series smithfield dual cores do clock well, but the heat generated is ferocious and you really do need water-cooling to get the best out of them.
