I need a new mobo, recommendations are appreciated.
My current spec is Gigabyte P35 DS3R, 4gb G.Skill 6400, E8400, 8800 GTS 512MB, 3 SATA HDD, 1 SATA DVD RW.
My current mobo is having trouble running more than one stick of RAM. Baiscally it powers on, all fans spin but no POST and no error beeps either when more than one stick of RAM is plugged in
I've tried different channels and different memory - Crucial ballistix 5400. Almost positive it's the motherboard failing as I've recently tried a bigger PSU than my current Corsair 520W; a Tagan 700W.
So I'm using it as an excuse to get one of the new P45 mobo's anyway
I'm not really interested in SLI and will spend up to £100 on the new mobo if it's worth it.
I was just going to get a Asus P5Q but seeing the power socket in the middle of the board has put me off.
Is it worth going for a more expensive version of the P5Q? Do they offer any significant benefits apart from the extra gfx card slot? Or any other mobo recommendations? Just get another P35 mobo?
