I am going to be upgrading my CPU, Mobo and RAM and I have decided on the i7 7900k CPU.
Mobo I was looking at the ASUS Strix Z390E but then I came across the Maximus Hero XI and I’m not sure which will be better for me, I could do with WiFi and Bluetooth included so that would point me towards the more expensive Hero but I’m not sure.
i also have a samsung 970 Evo V-NAND M.2 ssd that I would like to take full advantage of the speed.

Mia there any other boards with all the features in need that would be recommended over the above two or am I best to stick with them?

Don't see sense to pay lot for dead end upgrade path platform mobo, for yesteryear CPU which likely starts getting some hiccups when games take proper use of cores/threads of next-gen consoles coming in year.

Actually year old Shadow of the Tomb Raider can load all 8 cores/threads of that CPU.

(100% load around 25:17)

From £200+ mobo I would demand upgrade path to future proof 12 core.

I wouldn't even consider Intel now and would (and should have) go with a Ryzen 3700x and good B450 or X570 motherboard. As EsaT says, there is no upgrade path with Intel plus they have more security holes in them than a sieve and are terribly overpriced. At least with AMD you could always drop one of next years cpu releases in the motherboard. What cpu and board are you upgrading from?
