Mobo with 2 x pcie x 16

Hi Guys,

I have been looking at random threads on YouTube and have seen that the Gigabyte 990 ud7 runs 2 gpu's in sli/xfire both at 16 speed.

I didnt know mobos did this, or is it just certain ones at a certain price?

Also are they worth it in terms of 2x16 being much better than 2x8???

Certain mobos have been able to do this for a good while now. As for performance there is only a ~1% difference between x8/x8 and x16/x16 corssfire. Usually these boards have the extra lanes for configurations such as trifire/3 way SLi or quadfire/quad SLi.
