Failed my mod 2 today. Really ****ed off with myself.

Pushed the limit in a 20 (Serious) and was overly cautious at Give ways (4 minors > fail).

Now have to wait 2 weeks for retest :(

Yup 4 minor faults in the same group and its a fail. You can have a total of 10 faults overall and still pass but 11 and its a fail.

Worst part was the ride of shame home and the fact every side road I now look at says 20. (that and the £75 fee...)

Live and learn!

At this very moment I should be doing my Mod 2 test, but was cancelled due to the wind. Shame the test centre didn't call before I got there to let me know!

I wouldn't say it was a waste of 3 hours of my day but they could have at least called. It is pretty bad up here, wasn't first thing but the wind picked up again. The examiner said that they had a guy doing a Mod1 this morning who was being blown all over the place and they say they can't judge your riding if theres wobble ie it may be bad riding or the wind.

Yup, examiner walked out and said no. Bearing in mind we had ridden to the examination centre in the wind. Also up here we were hit pretty bad with the tail end of hurricane katia.

Bad weather again today, wind plus rain this time. Different examiner who obviously wanted to go out for a ride!

Anyway I passed, though thought I messed up several times!

Test riding bikes tomorrow after evening, weather will be a little better and the traffic should be OK.

3 minors. 2 for progress but the examiner was more understanding as it was windy and a lot of mud and rubbish on the roads but thinks I was a little slow in places.

1 was for nearly missing the turn off on the independent ride section. I was so busy trying to concentrate on catching up with a bus and keeping a suitable gap on a dual carriage way that he had to repeat the place to go to, which is the point where I thought I had really messed up.

Hmmm, I thought it was going to be an easy choice, test rode an ER6F and then a 650 Bandit S.

Pros and Cons for both so test riding the ER6 again on Saturday.

Well, I test rode the ER6F again and while I really like the Ninja looks I found the seat uncomfortable, the mirrors were terrible, and the handle bars curve a little too much in causing me to have a funny grip on them. Also, not sure I liked the torque from the parallel twin or the vibration that comes up through the whole bike.

So I have bought a 650 Bandit S. 09 plate, 4500 miles in immaculate condition, ex demo so been garaged and not a scratch or ounce of rust on it. Got the dealer to fit 2 new tyres (the rear was squared off), heated grips, crash protectors, service it and comes with a 12 month warranty.

Now just need to sell my CBF!

Will do, sods law the weather is great for the next few days now that I have cleaned my 125 up and can't pick up the Bandit until the 125 is sold :(
